For merchants
Payment orchestration
Bring the providers you already work with, or find new ones in the marketplace. Route by country, currency, amount and provider, cascade on declines, and run every payment from one console. You keep your contracts, pricing and settlement.
For PSPs & platforms
White-label infrastructure
Run our orchestration platform under your own brand and domain. Onboard and manage your own merchants and sub-merchants, set your own pricing, and offer routing, cascading and analytics as your product - on our infrastructure.
The problem
Payments shouldn't be the hardest part of your business
But the moment you outgrow a single provider, they usually are. Sound familiar?
Five providers, five integrations
Every new payment provider means another API, another webhook format, another settlement report. Your engineers build plumbing instead of product.
Declined payments, lost revenue
A single provider means a single point of failure. When it wobbles - or declines a perfectly good customer - the sale is simply gone.
Zero visibility
Answers live in five different dashboards. Why was this payment declined? Which provider performs best? Nobody can say without an afternoon of digging.
We built Paytena because payment infrastructure kept slowing good businesses down. You deserve payments that just work - everywhere you sell.
The plan
Your 3-step plan
From first login to a routed payment - most teams do this in a day, not a quarter.
Connect your providers
Plug in the provider accounts you already have - or find new ones in the marketplace and apply with a guided workflow. Contracts and settlement stay yours.
Set your routing
Decide how payments flow: a fixed provider, a priority order with failover, or the adaptive engine that learns which provider approves best - per country, currency, and amount.
Process and see everything
Send payments through one API and watch them in one dashboard: every attempt, every decline reason, every fee - normalized across all providers.
The layer in the middle
Everything between your checkout and your providers
Paytena owns the layer in the middle - discovery, connectivity, routing, and visibility - so you can own your growth.
One API for every provider
Integrate once and reach all of your payment providers through the same request, the same statuses, and the same webhooks - adding provider number five feels exactly like adding number two.
A marketplace of providers
Browse payment providers by industry, country, currency and payment method. Apply through a guided workflow, reuse your company documents, and track every application in one place.
Routing that fights for every sale
Deterministic rules when you want control, an adaptive engine when you want performance - and automatic failover that retries a declined payment on your backup provider in the same breath.
Onboarding without the paperwork loop
An encrypted document workspace holds your corporate documents once. Share them per application with a click - and never email a certificate of incorporation again.
Every payment, explained
One timeline per payment: which providers were tried, why one declined, what the raw response said, and how the sale was finally saved. Exportable, filterable, auditable.
Your money never stops here
Settlement always flows directly from your providers to you. Paytena is the connectivity and intelligence layer - it never receives, holds, or transfers your funds.
Capabilities
Built for teams that take payments seriously
Decline intelligence
Every provider response is normalized into clear categories - soft declines, hard declines, fraud signals, timeouts - so retries chase only what can actually be recovered.
Provider health & circuit breaker
Continuous latency and success monitoring per provider. A run of failures pulls a provider out of rotation automatically and re-tests it after a cooldown.
Rules without deploys
Ops and finance change routing from the dashboard - fixed, priority or failover order per country, currency and amount. Live instantly, no release window.
Authorize, capture, refund
The full payment lifecycle from API or dashboard: authorize now and capture later, capture partially, void, refund in full or in part - each step with a signed webhook.
Hosted payment flows
Send a return URL and get a redirect - customers complete payment on provider-controlled pages, so card data never touches your servers or ours.
Test and live environments
Separate pt_test_ and pt_live_ API keys with fully separated data. Integrate and demo against the sandbox, flip to live when you're ready.
Signed webhooks
HMAC-signed event delivery with retries, a full delivery log, and per-endpoint event subscriptions - your ledger stays in sync in real time.
Least-privilege roles
Nine capability-scoped roles per workspace, from Owner to read-only Viewer. Sensitive actions are enforced server-side, never just hidden in the UI.
Audit everything
Every administrative action lands in an append-only audit trail with actor, IP and timestamp. Records cannot be edited - by anyone.
Security first
Hardened at every layer
Payment infrastructure deserves more than a checkbox. Security controls here are enforced in the data layer - not just drawn in the interface.
Credentials encrypted at rest
Provider API keys are sealed with AES-256-GCM. Database access alone never exposes a usable secret.
Strict tenant isolation
Every query is scoped to your workspace and membership is re-verified on each request. No data crosses tenant boundaries.
Single-use sign-in links
Passwordless magic links are hashed at rest, expire in 15 minutes, and are consumed atomically - a link can never be replayed.
Append-only audit trail
Administrative actions are logged immutably with actor, IP, and change details. Even super admins can't erase history.
Documents, envelope-encrypted
Every file in your document workspace is encrypted with its own key before it touches storage, and shared only when you explicitly say so.
Card data, never touched
Payment collection happens on provider-controlled surfaces - hosted pages and tokenization. Full card numbers never reach Paytena servers.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to change my provider contracts?+
No. You keep your direct provider relationships, contracts and settlement exactly as they are. Paytena is the technology layer on top - it orchestrates routing and visibility over accounts you own.
Does the platform touch our funds?+
Never. Money flows directly between your payment providers and your bank accounts. Paytena makes routing decisions and reports on outcomes - it never receives, holds, or transfers funds.
How do we integrate?+
One server-to-server REST API (plus a TypeScript SDK). Your backend creates the payment; customers complete it on provider-controlled pages, so card data never touches Paytena or your servers. Most teams run their first sandbox payment the same day.
What if we don't have a provider for a market yet?+
Browse the built-in marketplace by industry, country, currency and payment method, then apply through a guided workflow with reusable company documents. The provider reviews and decides; you track everything in one place.
Is this processing real payments today?+
The platform is in build mode: the routing engine, payment lifecycle, analytics and APIs are fully functional, but outcomes are produced by a built-in simulator until a live provider connection is activated. You can explore the full product end to end before going live.
How does sign-in work without passwords?+
You receive a single-use, time-limited sign-in link by email. There is no password to phish, leak, or reuse.
Can I run multiple businesses on one account?+
Yes. Workspaces are fully isolated tenants with their own teams, providers, and data - and you can switch between them from one login.
